Charisma's passion and drive to help others is what brought her to the field of massage therapy. Charisma graduated from the Cortiva Institute of Massage; completing the extended 1,000 hour program. At Cortiva, she learned a plethora of massage techniques from Swedish massage to treatment therapies. Her favorite modalities include: structural bodywork, myofascial release, sports massage, and trigger point therapy. Charisma's eclectic massage style facilitates healing with every session and focuses in helping others recover from physical and daily stress by customizing self-care exercises client's can do at home. In her free time, Charisma enjoys singing, musical theatre, cooking, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
Massage throughout my life has always been a wonderful experience. When I was younger I have memories of my mother and various friends requesting a massage for achy shoulders or tension in their back. No matter the length of the massage session, it was always appreciated and they felt better than before!
All through school and my practice, unraveling the structure of the human body has been both challenging and rewarding; no-one body is ever the same. Being the person who helps people feel more complete gives me great pride in what I do.
I graduated from Cortiva Institute - School of Massage Therapy in 2013 where I transitioned into a more medical approach of massage. At Cortiva I learned Swedish massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point, tender point techniques, client communication and other approaches to help facilitate the recovery of my clients. I blend my work in an efficient and present client participatory session to help bring more awareness to the clients body. My goal in treatment work is to make long-lasting progress. I look forward to helping you regain optimal function of your body… and beyond!
Joey Babauta, LMP
"Dysfunction within the body can be mere by-products of how we use it. Without proper maintenance, an active or sedentary lifestyle can set one up for injuries & chronic holding patterns that eventually manifest as tension & pain.
As a bodyworker, Joey seeks to restore balance & movement within the body. He uses a diverse set of assessment skills that allows him to devise the best possible treatment plan. He employs techniques that are effective in realigning structure while maintaining a safe space for the nervous system to incorporate his style of work.
Joey is methodical in his approach, works with great specificity in each area of the body, & assigns simple self-care homework to mitigate symptoms between each session. His fundamental goal is long lasting change that leaves you feeling more comfortable in your body."
